Come to the feast an entire weekend in Bayeux !


Each year, Bayeux offers its heritage as the showcase for the Medieval festival!







For the second year in a row, Bayeux’s Medieval Festival must face the Covid-19 crisis and its consequences. The 2021 edition will therefore be light-weighted and adapted.
No large gatherings during this period of crisis therefore no animations or reconstitutions “Place de Gaulle”, no parade but shows, in restricted gauges, probably strolls and a medieval market less extensive as usual to create the event.

Program : 


75 stalls! Creators, artisans and producers present for the traditionnal medieval market. Around the Cathedral – 10am/10pm (Saturday) 10am/7pm (Sunday)
Dioramas Par Art6 Presentation of a 1/72th scale model of the Château de Bayeux from east to west in the 13th century, a castrale clod and its enclosure (fortification from the 10th to the 12th centuries), as well as the Château d’Osaka (Japan), and novelties. Courtyard of the Hôtel du Doyen – 10am/7.30pm (Saturday) 7pm (Sunday)
Le Chantier Art masters and companions share their ancestral know-how as builders (blacksmith, stonemason, sculptor, builder, etc.). Cour de l’Hôtel du Doyen – 10am/7.30pm (Saturday) 7pm (Sunday)
The Playground By “La compagnie des 4 jeudis” – Traditional wooden and collective games for all… Cour de l’Hôtel du Doyen – 10am/12.30pm et 2pm/17.30pm (samedi) 7pm (dimanche)
Les 7 Lieux Oyez oyez! From June the intercommunal media library Les 7 lieux relaunches its programme of events and goes into medieval mode! Take out your pencils to create the medieval coat of arms of the 7 Lieux, browse the exhibitions of neo-medieval tattoos and original plates of the Jhen comic strip, meet the artists of these exhibitions, discover the relations between Poil and Pouvoir, Middle Ages and Geek culture during meetings with passionate specialists. For children, Les 7 lieux offer an hour of medieval storytelling, a family heritage tour and a dragon drawing workshop. Wearing the mask is mandatory, and wearing the helmet is recommended! All the animations are free, the exhibitions are open access, and it is not necessary to be subscribed to the 7 Lieux to enjoy them. And lots of other activities throughout the summer! Booking on 02 31 51 20 20/ This program is likely to be modified in compliance with health conditions. More info on and facebook@les 7lieux
Exhibition: “Modes d’autrefois” will present costumes on models and a shop under which a master tailor of the Middle Ages will invite the public to discover fashion during the hundred years war in all its aspects. Fashion is the reflection of an era, of its morals and beliefs. So, pull on the thread of history. Chapel of the Tapestry Museum – 10am/12.30pm and 2pm/6.30 pm (Saturday and Sunday)

The Walkers of Light (Visual Music) By the Company K Coming from an imaginary folklore, The walkers of light, musicians-wadders, carry light in their backs, music in their chest, singing in their hearts. They walk and sow the seed of groove… Across the site – Saturday and Sunday
Les perchées (spectacle pholyphonic) By Artoutaï Four spirits of Nature – straight out of the ancient legends and bearers of symbols will transform their audience into songs and colors. Experience a musical flight… and in the air (30mn) Jardin de l’Hôtel du Doyen – 15h, 17h (Saturday and Sunday) et 20h (uniquement samedi)
Méliador’s strolls (balanced tomfooleries) Arthur the tough and Ivan the smart, these two rascals have more than one trick up their sleeves to entertain the good people, with many pirouettes and many tricks led with a drumbeat. This duo will delight you! (35mn) Jardin de l’Hôtel du Doyen – 14h, 16h et 18h (samedi et dimanche)
The circassian bateleur By Pascal Rousseau – In the tradition of the jugglers of yesteryear, Pascal Rousseau performs with apparent ease circus acts that are as incredible as they are effective, where balance is mixed with power and emotion. The artist and the audience merge for a moment of lightness, sweetness and sincerity, the magic happens. (30mn) Halle ô Grains – 4 pm and 6 pm (Saturday) 3 pm and 5 pm (Sunday)
